The Fellowship of Christian Athletes at UNC Charlotte (49erFCA) uses the platform of Athletics to engage the campus, community and to ultimately see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches. It is our prayer to see an authentic movement of God's Spirit for salvation and multiplication in and through the athletes, coaches, campus and community of UNC Charlotte.
Born in Wisconsin, moved south at the age of 4 due to family pursuing NASCAR. Lived in Denver, NC until the opportunity to play college football became a reality after high school. After 2 years, in 2011, I transferred to UNC Charlotte where the Lord intersected my life. The gospel was proclaimed during the launch of FCA through Ryan Gloer's efforts in spring of 2012. Amidst sins destruction, depression, and looming darkness, the Lord gave me hope through enabling me to receive Christ and a new identity. I walked on and became the punter for CLT's inaugural football team. I embraced team bible study, attending FCA and growing in my relationship with Jesus. Shortly after graduating in 2014, I was clearly called to FCA staff back in my hometown of Lincoln County. I've been gifted a lovely wife, Olivia, three boys, Emmett (6), Griffin (4) Beckett (1) and I am thankful for having been on staff for 8 years! I recently transitioned to serve the Niners!
After growing up in the northeast, my family and I moved to North Carolina when I was in high school. I did not grow up a traditional church kid and had sporadic involvement in things of faith during my childhood. I committed to UNC Charlotte to play soccer and that became the most pivotal choice I had made this far in life. I had a difficult time transitioning to college and under the influence of a faithful team mate and residential advisor, I head the gospel over the course of a few months for the first time. If was through FCA and those faithful women that the Lord gripped my heart, opened my eyes to my need for him, and saved me. I have served in FCA in multiple capacities since then, ranging from student leader to now Ambassador! I live in Charlotte with my husband, Brett, where he works as a teacher and in my full time job i work for the NC Division of Public Health.
